A BLOG ABOUT VENICE

We live on the other side of the world in New Zealand and our idea was to create a sanctuary, a home away from home in Cannaregio where we could be part of the ancient community that is Venice. Only minutes from the Grand Canal and the historic Rialto Bridge, our apartment is the perfect place for doing just that.

Because we can't be at the apartment very often, we decided to rent it out as a holiday rental. This has worked really well, but one of the many things I have learnt during this time is how confusing it is to plan a trip to Venice.

Arriving is difficult to understand if you have never been before and especially when you only have a short time to see as much as possible.

So, this blog is intended to make it easier for you to plan your trip and to give you a little bit of an idea of what to expect plus tell you about some of the many fascinating things I have discovered (and continue to discover) about Venice. I hope you will enjoy and find it useful!
